Ok so lets go into detail as to the faults on chapter 97

Text:

- The diamond ( that's the shape the text should have in the bubble ) was rarely centered properly

- The vertical space between was way too big

- The font size was too big on some parts, it even got out of the bubble on occasion and that's a big no no

- You might want to use different fonts for thinking, talking and yelling

Cleaning:

- You grained the whole image to death. You're not using normal manga raws, but volume raws so there's really no need for much improvement on the original scan
Just rotate and crop should there be a need, check the blacks, redraw and resize

But i will say this, i loved the credits page. Looks very professional

We were forced into another speed release. Not much more to say than that. Our next several releases will probably be the same. The people in our group that wanted to change the quality this time around just haven't been available.  Tongue

As for the credits page, it looks professional because it is professional. I created it; my job requires me to create graphics for companies.

Well, even though the quality is (currently) less good than musashi (sorry AOM!), I'm just happy to see that Ai Kora will actually see a conclusion before the end of the world.

I don't think momo messed with your cleaning, asim.   Undecided he just did some typesetting, which we didn't even use for the 97 release.  Wink

Fantastic attitude, you're sure to improve if you keep it up

As for "we'll release it in higher quality later" i'll have to call bullshit on that one. You're already using volume raws, if you were using manga scans i'd buy it but when you already have the best possible raws you can get so i don't see you redoing this whole thing

Most online manga readers are idiots, that's why sleepyfans and franky house get so much feedback even though their scans are bad and the translation is shit

If you're not gonna even try then stop, because the cold hard truth in the scanlating world is that after a chapter is out by another group, no matter how shitty it is, it's very unlikely for another team to pick that up

*sigh*  Roll Eyes

I think we should just stop here, before this gets out of context. I will try & clear a few things up from what you said, and end it here.

Most online manga readers are idiots, that's why sleepyfans and franky house get so much feedback even though their scans are bad and the translation is shit

1) Online manga readers are inanimate, so they cannot be "idiots"

2) franky house is awesome. & they get feedback because they're actually releasing regularly *looks at musashi*

3) "the translation is shit" -> i would be willing to bet you do not even speak/read japanese, so how would you know? you're speaking beyond your own abilities.

If you're not gonna even try then stop, because the cold hard truth in the scanlating world is that after a chapter is out by another group, no matter how shitty it is, it's very unlikely for another team to pick that up

I'm not sure where this rock you're sleeping under is, but the truth is, in its rawest form, that the entire purpose of scanlating is to bring manga to the fans (that is why it was invented). Quality is merely a luxury. I've said this before, but if people wanted quality that much, then they would have no problems waiting for the manga to be released in their country; there would be no need to hijack it from Japan, and distribute it on the net (aside from the few who cannot ever get it in their country; in which case, i still believe they would prefer to read the chapter now than wait four weeks for a quality release).

Fantastic attitude, you're sure to improve if you keep it up

We like asim's attitude.

There is a difference between needing to improve, and obsessing over your own bleak capabilities. We are already more than capable of releasing HQ; we just choose to release otherwise more quickly. For asim's quick work, we thank him, because now the fans can read the chapter early. Smiley

As for "we'll release it in higher quality later" i'll have to call bullshit on that one. You're already using volume raws, if you were using manga scans i'd buy it but when you already have the best possible raws you can get so i don't see you redoing this whole thing

Call it what you like. There is no reason for us to re-do the entire series, because someone has already done it. I, personally, only intend to release what has NOT been released; if some of the other members in the team want to release higher qualities of what is already out, that is fine.

Now to make this last point clear: We intend to improve on our quality; just please be patient & bear with us in the meantime. Everything isn't as black & white as this guy wants you to believe. We have lives & other obligations; therefore, we do not have endless amounts of time to spend on these releases currently, but we WILL make effort to do otherwise. Learn to appreciate what you have. Go cry a river somewhere else, as the real fans of this series are completely grateful that we are scanlating this series at a pace it deserves.  Quality comes with time, which the fans have already dedicated much of just waiting for any release.  When I want quality subs on anime, I download them when a quality sub has done them, often long after the series has actually ended.  This does not, however, stop me from watching the earlier subs as I like the series and want to see it when it comes out.  You obviously have no respect for the gap that is being filled by our group as you have your head so far up your high horse's ass that you can not understand the outside world.
