Good art makes for good times. So hard to narrow it down to 5, so many others start coming to mind. But it can be done. Still a lot of books I'd like to say have potential to be truly great.

wow when i saw this i can say that i have only 27 ongoing..

here are my top 5, favorite manga of all time, and all still publishing:
1. the breaker
2. beelzebub
3. nabari no ou
4. psyren
5. loveless


and i saw a lot of people have bleach as their favs.. why for gods sake? it sucks big time!!! the constant trolling from kubo made the manga awful, constant dragging on and him without ideas on what to do next so he trys some "plot twist" which are ridiculous and just plane facepalm..
as for naruto and one piece - don't read those, just watch anime so i can't say anything, but from what i hear from others, one piece deserves the 1st place manga in japan..

anyway just started reading gamaran, its pretty interesting.. historical and martial arts, so if you like those genres give it a go..
i actually don't like historical genre cause they bore me but the exception is this gamaran and the awesome mugen no juunin ^^
