regarding the OP/ED themes. Lately companies have been keeping the original themes, and just subbing them.

They did keep the Bleach openings, but don't think they subbed them. Maybe I just didn't look.

I also think subs are better, dubbing something kinda sucks the life out of it.

Subs are my preference, it was set in stone after my first dub version visit, it was the first and last... I didn't even last 10 mins into the episode...
I especially hate how the English dubs sound like 10 year old kids doing them with those really annoying voices, it makes it hard to focus on the anime, you just want to switch it off or mute it and watch without sound at times...
But some people say it also depends on which version you see first, like if you watched the dub version first, you may prefer it to the original, but I think thats pretty rare.

Dragonball dub wasn't so bad either (Z too now that I have watched DVD set, voices are way squeaky and some edits of actual parts)

yeah i just recently found out that we actually have an anime channel in germany  Shocked

and after checking a few of the series (fma, gantz, elfen lied, cowboy bebop etc.) i have to say some are not too shabby while some suck major golfballs... lol

but again i have to say i kinda agree with lost-chan, coz i started OP or Naruto with dubs actually and switched over to subs when they didnt continue .... and now i can't bear watching theese dubs anymore... =_=

lessons are of no use, it would be best if you just go to japan, much easier to learn when your completely immersed in it

Someone said the same thing when I wanted to learn spanish. Pretty sink or swim if you do something like that. I can only imagine how hard it would be with surviving without some base knowledge of the language.

Um yea, subs is my preferred format. Although it does pique my interest to know how some series sound dubed. Like Bleach, I hate how they dubed Ichigo's hollow voice, or rather how they suppressed the vocal effect, they should have left that alone.  Cry

dubs are for morons who like seeing their anime with shitty voice actors compiled with retarded americanization and are too stupid to read or at least try to understand another language
